Restructured CSEET: four centre-based papers, three of them subjective
The CSEET is no longer a remote-proctored test. It is held at ICSI exam centres over four days, in the first week of February, June and October. Business Communication, Fundamentals of Accounting and Economic and Business Environment are 3-hour subjective papers of 100 marks each; Business Laws and Management is a 2-hour OMR paper of 100 marks (60 law, 40 management) with no negative marking. You pass with 40% in each paper and 50% in aggregate in one sitting, and there is no exemption or carry-forward of marks.
What to do: Practise full-length written answers for the three subjective papers, not just MCQs, and time yourself to 3 hours per paper.
Effective: Effective from the June 2026 session · Attempts: February 2027, June 2027
Scope: the whole exam, not one chapter.

New CSEET syllabus and study material from the June 2026 session
Along with the new format, ICSI replaced the CSEET syllabus with a restructured one for four papers: Business Communication, Fundamentals of Accounting, Economic and Business Environment, and Business Laws and Management. ICSI says the curriculum was realigned with current corporate, technology and regulatory developments and that updated study material is issued at registration and on its website.
What to do: Study from the restructured CSEET syllabus and study material only; older CSEET books follow the previous paper structure.
Effective: Applicable from the June 2026 session onwards · Attempts: February 2027, June 2027
Scope: the whole exam, not one chapter.

Corrigendum to the Business Laws and Management study material
ICSI corrected the printed restructured CSEET book for Business Laws and Management in four lessons. The fixes include the definition of key managerial personnel, the rule that listed and larger public companies (and private companies with paid-up capital of Rs 10 crore or more) must have a whole-time company secretary, corrected section references in contract law, and the maximum number of partners in a firm (50, read with the Companies Act and rules).
What to do: If you use the printed book, mark these corrections in Lessons 1 to 4, or study from the updated e-book on the ICSI website.
Effective: Applies to the printed restructured CSEET study material; already incorporated in the electronic version · Attempts: February 2027, June 2027
Chapters affected: Introduction to Law (Business Laws and Management); Elements of Company Law (Business Laws and Management); Elements of Law of Contracts (Business Laws and Management); Elements of Law relating to Partnership and Limited Liability Partnership (Business Laws and Management)
