ACCA Applied Skills exam pattern

ACCA Applied Skills has 6 papers of 100 marks each (600 total). Corporate and Business Law (Global) is objective (MCQ). There is no negative marking. LW, PM, TX, FR, AA and FM are six separate exams, each taken and passed individually. The pass mark for each exam is 50%, and all questions are compulsory. Objective test questions are marked all or nothing: no partial marks and no further penalty for a wrong answer. PM, TX, FR, AA and FM are session exams; LW is an on-demand computer-based exam. The exam is held in March, June, September and December.

How many exams are there in ACCA Applied Skills?

Six: Corporate and Business Law (LW), Performance Management (PM), Taxation (TX), Financial Reporting (FR), Audit and Assurance (AA) and Financial Management (FM). Each is out of 100 marks, all questions are compulsory, and each exam is taken and passed on its own.

What is the ACCA PM, TX, FR and FM exam pattern?

Each is a three-hour computer-based exam. Section A has 15 two-mark objective test questions. Section B has three OT cases, each a scenario with five two-mark objective test questions. Section C has 40 marks of constructed response questions: two 20-mark questions in PM, FR and FM, and one 10-mark plus two 15-mark questions in TX. So 60 marks are objective.

What is the ACCA AA exam pattern?

AA is a three-hour computer-based exam. Section A has three 10-mark OT cases, each with five two-mark objective test questions (30 marks). Section B has one 30-mark and two 20-mark constructed response questions.

What is the ACCA LW exam pattern?

LW (Global variant) is a two-hour computer-based exam. Section A has 25 two-mark and 20 one-mark objective test questions (70 marks); Section B has 5 six-mark multi-task questions.

Is there negative marking in ACCA Applied Skills?

No. Objective test questions are marked all or nothing: an incorrect answer scores zero and is not penalised further, and partial marks are not given.

What is the pass mark for ACCA Applied Skills exams?

The pass mark for each exam is 50%.

When are ACCA Applied Skills exams held?

PM, TX, FR, AA and FM are session exams held in March, June, September and December; only limited variants are offered in March and September, and all variants in June and December. LW is an on-demand computer-based exam.
