A bank's transaction system transfers Rs 10,000 from account A to account B. The debit succeeds but the system crashes before the credit, and on restart the debit is reversed so that neither account changes. Which ACID property is demonstrated?
This demonstrates atomicity. A transaction must be completed entirely or not at all, so when the credit failed the debit was rolled back. Durability and isolation address different concerns, namely persistence of committed data and separation of concurrent transactions.
- AAtomicityCorrect
- BIsolation
- CDurability
- DConsistency of the schema only
Explanation
Atomicity means a transaction is all or nothing. A partial transaction (debit without credit) is rolled back so the database shows no change. Durability concerns surviving committed changes after failure, and isolation concerns concurrent transactions not interfering.

One question tells you little. A timed set on Information Systems shows your real accuracy, how long you take and where you lose marks.
