An authorised person, Sundaram Forex Ltd, fails to file a return as directed by the Reserve Bank. Which provision governs the penalty, and what is the base penalty limit?
Section 11(3) applies. For an authorised person who fails to file a return as directed, the Reserve Bank may impose a penalty up to Rs 10,000 after giving a reasonable opportunity of being heard, with up to Rs 2,000 more for each day of continuing contravention.
