An Indian health insurer receives a claims file of 20,000 records. A check shows that 1,200 records have a missing policy start date. Which measure of data quality does this check most directly assess?

Completeness. Records with a missing policy start date mean required information is absent from the data set, which is a completeness failure. Accuracy, timeliness, consistency and uniqueness address correctness, currency, agreement between sources and duplicates, so they do not describe missing fields.

  1. ACompletenessCorrect
  2. BAccuracy of the claim amounts
  3. CTimeliness of the file delivery
  4. DConsistency across two systems
  5. Uniqueness of policy identifiers

Explanation

Missing values in a required field show that the data set does not contain all the information it should. That is a completeness issue. The missing rate here is 1,200/20,000 = 6%. Accuracy would concern whether recorded values are correct, not whether they are present.

Did you get it right without looking?

One question tells you little. A timed set on Purpose and function of data analysis shows your real accuracy, how long you take and where you lose marks.
