The loss is ₹8,000.
- A₹6,000Correct
- B₹8,000
- C₹10,000
- D₹4,000
Explanation
Depreciation on the sold item for 6 months = 40,000 × 10% × 6/12 = 2,000. Book value at sale = 38,000. Loss = 38,000 − 30,000 = ₹8,000. Hence the key is ₹8,000, and ₹10,000 ignores the current-year depreciation.
