In linear programming, what does the feasible region represent on a graph?
The feasible region is the set of production combinations that satisfy all constraints at the same time, including non-negativity. The optimal solution is found at one of its corner points, using an iso-contribution line to identify the best one.
- AThe set of combinations that satisfy all of the constraintsCorrect
- BThe line showing combinations that give the same contribution
- CThe single point at which contribution is maximised
- DThe area where at least one constraint is exceeded
Explanation
The feasible region is the area in which every constraint, including non-negativity, is satisfied. Option B describes an iso-contribution line, and option C describes the optimal point, which lies at a vertex of the region.
