Rao Pharma, Hyderabad, was granted GST registration on 20 August 2024 with effect from 1 August 2024 (the effective date). Between 1 and 19 August 2024 it made taxable supplies to unregistered customers in another State, each below Rs 2,50,000. It wants to issue revised tax invoices. Which course is permitted under Rule 53 of the CGST Rules?

Rao Pharma may issue revised invoices for supplies between the effective date and the certificate date. For inter-State supplies of Rs 2,50,000 or less to unregistered persons, it may issue a consolidated revised invoice separately for recipients in each State, not one across all States.
