Ravi, a member of a gang, is convicted of organised crime under Section 111 BNS. The offence did not result in anyone's death. Which punishment is correct under Section 111(2)?
Imprisonment of at least five years which may extend to life, plus a fine of at least five lakh rupees. Section 111(2)(b) applies where the organised crime has not resulted in death. The death or life sentence with a ten lakh fine applies only when death results.
