Ravi starts from his shop and walks 10 m north, turns right and walks 15 m, turns right again and walks 4 m, then turns left and walks 6 m. In which direction is he from his starting point, in terms of the final leg's end position?

Ravi ends up north-east of his starting point. Tracking coordinates gives (0,10), (15,10), (15,6) and finally (21,6), which is 21 m east and 6 m north of the shop, so the position lies in the north-east.

Explanation

Take east as x and north as y. Walk 10 m north: (0,10). Turn right to east, 15 m: (15,10). Turn right to south, 4 m: (15,6). Turn left from south to east, 6 m: (21,6). The final point is 21 m east and 6 m north of the start, so he is north-east of the start. A south-east answer would need a negative y value.
