The High Court of a State has original civil jurisdiction under its Letters Patent and wishes to frame rules for the procedure to be followed in suits it tries on its original side. Which provision of the Code of Civil Procedure, 1908 directly empowers it to do so, notwithstanding anything else in the Code?

Section 129 is the correct provision. It allows a High Court to make rules regulating its own procedure in its original civil jurisdiction, provided they are not inconsistent with its Letters Patent, order or other law establishing it. The other sections deal with different subjects.

  1. ASection 119
  2. BSection 120
  3. CSection 129Correct
  4. DSection 130
