Under the definition of 'registered proprietor' in the GI Act, 1999, who may be the registered proprietor of a geographical indication?
A registered proprietor is any association of persons or of producers, or any organisation, entered in the register as proprietor of the geographical indication. It is not a single trader, the Registrar, or merely an authorised user.
