Under the Indian Contract Act, 1872, a contingent contract to do something if a specified uncertain event happens within a fixed time becomes void when:

Such a contingent contract becomes void if the fixed time expires without the specified event having happened, or if the event becomes impossible earlier. If the event occurs within the time, the contract can be enforced by law.

  1. Athe event happens before the time fixed expires
  2. Bthe time fixed expires and the event has not happenedCorrect
  3. Cone party changes his mind before the time expires
  4. Dthe event happens exactly on the last day of the time fixed

Explanation

Section 35 says a contract contingent on an uncertain event happening within a fixed time becomes void if, at the expiry of the time, the event has not happened, or if before then the event becomes impossible. Happening of the event within time makes the contract enforceable, so options A and D are wrong. A change of mind does not discharge it.
