A tailor in Surat charges a fixed stitching setup fee plus a rate per garment. For 4 garments the bill is ₹1,300 and for 7 garments the bill is ₹2,050. What is the bill for 10 garments?

The bill for 10 garments is ₹2,800. The difference between the two bills gives the per-garment rate of ₹250, and the fixed fee is ₹300. So 300 plus 10 times 250 equals ₹2,800.

  1. A₹2,600
  2. B₹2,800Correct
  3. C₹2,750
  4. D₹2,900

Explanation

Let bill = a + bn. Subtracting, 3b = 750, so b = 250. Then a = 1,300 − 1,000 = 300. For 10 garments: 300 + 2,500 = ₹2,800. Check: 7 garments give 300 + 1,750 = 2,050, which matches. Using ₹2,600 would ignore the fixed fee.
