Arjun is facing north-east. He turns 90° clockwise, then 180° anticlockwise, and finally 45° clockwise. Which direction is he facing now?
Arjun faces north. Starting at north-east (45°), the 90° clockwise turn takes him to south-east (135°), the 180° anticlockwise turn to north-west (315°), and the final 45° clockwise turn brings him to 360°, which is exactly north.

Explanation
Measure clockwise from north: north-east is 45°. After +90° he is at 135° (south-east). After -180° he is at -45°, i.e. 315° (north-west). After +45° he is at 360°, which is north. Ignoring the sign of the anticlockwise turn would wrongly give another direction.
