Ramesh settles Rs 10 lakh on trustee Hari to pay interest to his friend Charu for her life. Ramesh dies, then Charu dies, and the deed has no further direction. Under Section 83 of the Indian Trusts Act, 1882, for whose benefit does Hari hold the fund?

Hari holds the fund for Ramesh's legal representative. When the trust is completely executed without exhausting the property and there is no contrary direction, Section 83 requires the trustee to hold the balance for the author of the trust or his legal representative.
