Rohan, a hacker, emails thousands of people a message that appears to come from a well-known Indian bank and asks them to enter their net-banking passwords on a look-alike website. Which cyber threat does this describe?
This is phishing. The attacker impersonates a trusted bank through emails and a look-alike website to trick people into disclosing passwords. It differs from denial-of-service, ransomware and salami attacks, which respectively block access, encrypt data for ransom, or skim tiny sums.

- BDenial-of-service attack
- CRansomware
- DSalami attack
Explanation
Phishing uses deceptive messages and fake websites to trick users into revealing credentials. A denial-of-service attack floods a system to block access. Ransomware encrypts data and demands payment. A salami attack skims tiny amounts of money unnoticed. None of these others involves a fake site collecting passwords.
