Tandem Foods has completed the rollout of a new quality system. Lewin's model suggests that, after the new methods have been adopted, management should now take which action to stop staff reverting to old habits?

Management should refreeze. In Lewin's model this final stage stabilises the new way of working through reinforcement, rewards, updated policies and procedures so that staff do not revert to previous behaviour once the change itself has been implemented.

  1. ARefreeze by embedding the new practices through reward systems, policies and reinforcementCorrect
  2. BUnfreeze by presenting data showing the old methods are failing
  3. CMove by running further pilot training sessions in each plant
  4. DConduct a PESTEL analysis of the external environment

Explanation

Lewin's three stages are unfreeze, move (change) and refreeze. Refreezing comes after the change is adopted and stabilises it through reinforcement, rewards and formal procedures. Unfreezing and moving are earlier stages, so they do not address reversion.
