NISM Certifications · NISM-Series-X-A: Investment Adviser (Level 1) · Grievance Redress Mechanism

Under SEBI's investor grievance framework, an investor first complains to the intermediary and, if unsatisfied, escalates via SCORES. If the matter is still unresolved, which sequence of further options is correctly available to the investor?

After approaching the intermediary and then SCORES, the investor can go to the ODR platform for conciliation or arbitration, and may also pursue other legal remedies. Going only to the Supreme Court, waiting for registration lapse, or asking for price reversal are not recognised escalation steps.

  1. AApproach the ODR platform for conciliation/arbitration, or pursue other legal remediesCorrect
  2. BOnly approach the Supreme Court directly with no other route
  3. CWait for the adviser's registration to lapse
  4. DComplain to the stock exchange's trading desk for price reversal

Explanation

After the intermediary and SCORES stages, the investor may initiate dispute resolution through the ODR platform (conciliation then arbitration) and may also pursue legal remedies such as consumer forums or courts. The other options are not recognised escalation routes.
