Under the Companies (Auditor's Report) Order, 2020, the Order applies to auditor's reports on financial statements for financial years commencing on or after which date?
The CARO 2020 applies to auditor's reports for financial years commencing on or after 1 April 2019, as paragraph 2 of the Order says. The 2016 Order was superseded, so that date does not govern current reports.
- A1 April 2016
- B1 April 2019Correct
- C1 April 2020
- D1 April 2021
Explanation
Paragraph 2 of the Order states that the matters in paragraphs 3 and 4 are to be included in reports for financial years commencing on or after 1 April 2019. The 2016 date belongs to the superseded Order, so that option is wrong.
