Under the Information Technology Act, 2000, who may declare a computer resource that directly or indirectly affects the facility of Critical Information Infrastructure to be a protected system?
The appropriate Government declares a computer resource a protected system by notification in the Official Gazette. This applies to a resource that directly or indirectly affects the facility of Critical Information Infrastructure. Owners, intermediaries or adjudicating officers cannot make this declaration.
