From the November 2025 session, CS and CM subjects need at least 30% in each paper and 50% overall, with Paper A and Paper B weighted 70:30. Each CB subject needs 50%. IAI may adjust pass marks session by session and confirms them with the results.

  • CS1, CS2, CM1 and CM2: you need at least 30% in Paper A, at least 30% in Paper B, and at least 50% in the aggregate. The aggregate weights Paper A and Paper B 70:30 and is rounded up to the next whole number.
  • CB1, CB2 and CB3: you need at least 50%, with the final mark rounded up to the next whole number.
  • If you miss either Paper A or Paper B of a CS or CM subject, your result for that subject is recorded as Absent.
  • IAI reserves the right to change the pass mark from session to session. The final pass mark for each subject is announced with the results.
  • Two examiners mark each script independently, and some scripts also go to a Review Examiner. If a script is not reviewed, the average of the two examiners' marks is final. If it is reviewed, the Review Examiner's mark is final.
  • Results are published subject-wise on the IAI website, and IAI also publishes a list of the highest scorers for each session.
  • From the November 2025 exams, IAI replaced solution challenge and re-evaluation with an Appeal Process. An appeal must be filed within 45 days of the results, costs Rs 5,000 per subject, and requires you to have applied for your answer script and attended IAI's post-result counselling session. The fee is refunded only if the result changes from Fail to Pass.
  • ACET pass mark is 50%, with no sectional cut-offs. ACET has no revaluation, and results are normally declared within about 10 working days.
