A project team has been together for several weeks. Members now openly disagree about roles and how decisions should be made, and some are challenging the team leader. According to Tuckman's model, which stage is the team in?
The team is in the storming stage of Tuckman's model. Conflict over roles, decision-making and challenges to the leader are typical of this stage, whereas forming is cautious and polite, and norming involves agreed rules and growing cohesion.

Explanation
Open disagreement, competition over roles and challenges to the leader are characteristic of the storming stage. Forming involves polite, cautious behaviour as members get to know each other. Norming comes later, when agreed working methods and cohesion emerge.
