Eight persons sit in a row facing north. Kiran sits at the extreme right end. Neeta sits third to the left of Kiran. What is Neeta's position from the right end of the row?

Neeta is 4th from the right end. Kiran is at the right end, so Neeta, three places to his left, is 5th from the left. In a row of eight, 5th from the left equals 8 - 5 + 1 = 4th from the right.

  1. A3rd
  2. B4thCorrect
  3. C5th
  4. D6th

Explanation

Kiran is 8th from the left and 1st from the right. Third to the left of Kiran means 3 places further left, so Neeta is 5th from the left. In a row of 8, the position from the right is 8 - 5 + 1 = 4th. Choosing 5th wrongly reuses the left position as the right position, and 3rd just counts the gap.
