In the SMART framework for setting personal objectives, what does the letter 'M' stand for?
The M in SMART stands for Measurable. An objective needs a quantifiable or observable indicator so that progress can be tracked and achievement confirmed, rather than relying on vague impressions of whether the goal has been met.
- AMotivating
- BMeasurableCorrect
- CManageable
- DMonitored
Explanation
In SMART, M stands for Measurable: there must be a way to tell whether and to what extent the objective has been achieved. Motivating, manageable and monitored are not part of the standard acronym used in the BT syllabus.
