What stood out

  • Company law dominated: about two-thirds of descriptive marks came from Companies Act chapters, with Other Laws (General Clauses, Interpretation, FEMA) making up the rest.
  • FEMA was a heavy hitter across both parts, with three MCQs plus two descriptive items on remittances and holding of foreign exchange.
  • Almost every descriptive question was a fact-based scenario requiring a reasoned conclusion; pure theory was limited to Other Laws questions.
  • The official answer key reported no correct option for one deposits-related MCQ, so expect such items to be handled through the key.
  • Six case scenarios drove the MCQs; CSR obligations alone accounted for three items, so read Section 135 closely.
