Under the Industrial Relations Code, 2020, when may the appropriate Government require an employer to constitute a Works Committee?

The appropriate Government may, by general or special order, require a Works Committee where one hundred or more workers are or have been employed on any day in the preceding twelve months. Worker representatives may not be fewer than employer representatives.

Explanation

Section 3(1) allows the appropriate Government, by general or special order, to require a Works Committee in establishments where 100 or more workers are or were employed on any day in the preceding twelve months. Worker representatives must not be fewer than employer representatives.
