What stood out

  • GST in Part I carried 70 marks against 30 for corporate tax planning, and the 25 mark opening case was a full monthly GST computation from liability to cash payable.
  • Input tax credit carried 20 marks across the main case and a separate blocked-credit computation in 3(a), level with supply and place of supply questions.
  • A 2025 GST circular on show cause notice monetary limits was tested in 4A(iii), so recent notifications matter even in an open book paper.
  • Part II opened with a 15 mark case on carry forward of losses in amalgamation, keeping business restructuring as the anchor of the tax planning section.
  • Most questions were computational or fact-application problems; pure theory was limited to a few parts on appeals, records and presumptive taxation.
