What stood out

  • GST (Part I) carried 70 marks and corporate tax planning (Part II) 30 marks, with alternatives offered for Q4 and Q6.
  • The paper was entirely computational or problem based: no entry is pure theory, and the opening 15-mark case required a full monthly GST liability and credit ledger computation.
  • Supply under GST (including place of supply, composition levy, exemptions and reverse charge) took 30 marks and input tax credit 25 marks, together over half of the GST listed marks.
  • Part II centred on a compulsory 15-mark company computation of total income, book profit and MAT credit, followed by managerial decision and restructuring numericals such as make-or-buy and slump sale.
